*Some updates & requests as of August 2025- We are just a few weeks out from the wedding! We can't wait to celebrate! Below are some tips and suggestions for ease of travel & stay from our resort coordinator that we suggest reviewing as you prepare!

-Ensure your license/ID, Passport and all travel documents are up to date. if you have recently had a name change, please bring a copy of your marriage license as an extra precaution in the event of discrepancy between airline systems & your identification forms (have witnessed this issue with friends multiple times the last few years). If you chose transfer to be included in your reservation, you will be receiving info from Destify- please reach out to them with questions or concerns if you have not received it. Suggest printing this if you don't have international cell service upon arrival in Mexico before you get to the resort.

-You should make restaurant reservations via email in advance for other nights you are staying at the resort - prearrivalhost@unicohotelrm.com. You will also be able to do this & sign up for additional activities at check- in, although doing so in advance should allow greater options and to ensure you can dine at the preferred restaurants! The food at UNICO is highly rated, so we suggest taking advantage :-)

-Wedding night attire is semi-formal/cocktail. Men may opt for a linen suit, lighter suit- tie optional, khaki/chino pants and a button down shirt. Ladies may choose a maxi or midi dress, sundress or jumpsuit. While shoes are optional for the beach ceremony, you should have an option (men-boat shoe or loafer, women- sandal or high heels. No flip flops until the dance floor please) to wear before & after, as there will be walking between events on the resort grounds.

-Welcome night attire is casual/cocktail. Men - khakis, linen pants, or khaki shorts & a button down shirt or polo. Ladies- sundress, midi dress, skirt with smart top, linens, jumpsuit, etc. Please plan to celebrate being in Mexico with us - bright colors, floral prints and/or fun designs are highly encouraged :-) Arriba!

-Check with your cell phone & credit card providers ahead of time for any international fees.

-Smart casual attire is recommended for dining at the restaurants per the resort website. Plan to bring swimsuit coverups and sandals as well.

-Rooms will have steamer &/or iron, but you can also coordinate getting your clothes laundered/pressed at the resort and add this on during check-in if you wish.

-Please let Matt & Jill know of any dietary restrictions or allergies so we can accommodate on the welcome & wedding night!

-The resort has recommended guests be sure to pack insect repellant. The resort likely has sunscreen to purchase but at a higher cost- highly recommended to pack your own.

-There is a daily schedule of activities available for guests that can be found on the UNICO website- games, exercise classes, etc. Additional activities, excursions, spa services & golf are also available to book through your local host.

-There is an ATM at the resort that has a small exchange fee. We suggest packing some cash to have on hand. We have been told that resort staff prefer USD for tipping if you have exceptional service (housekeeping, dining, bartenders, etc.). If you leave the resort, you will want MXN.

-Please download WhatsApp prior to leaving for Mexico- this will be the easiest way for us all to communicate at the resort as well as how your local host will communicate with you

General housekeeping items for those who may be new to international travel-

-Consider keeping important items in the event of lost baggage in your carry-on! (Swimsuit, wedding day outfit, toiletries, medication, etc.)

-Medications are recommended to be transported in their original prescription bottles.
